Most people have internal clocks; many people’s systems do NOT adjust well to DST.

Not all sundials have removable/changeable parts. Mine doesn’t.

I’m not changing it ... and that would be my point ... don’t change it and leave it the way it is now. It would seem that you’re the one who wants to change it. I want to leave it the way it is ... :-) ...

I want DST to burn, it’s a stupid idea. It’s always been a stupid idea, it’s always going to be a stupid idea, anybody that thinks they see benefit from it can get those ideas by adjusting their personal schedules instead of making the entire country change.

Actually no one’s schedule changes. All your appointments and work times and anything you’ve set up with the clock REMAINS EXACTLY THE SAME.

You’re wrong !
Tomorrow, you will have “lost” an hour.
You may not feel it, but your internal clock will still be on ST !

I can pretty much GUARANTEE YOU that DST is not going to disappear. You may want it to, but it’s not. You’ll find that there are far more people who find benefits to DST than don’t. If it weren’t that way, it would have been dispensed with a long time ago ... :-) ...

no actually EVERYONE’S (well except AZ) schedule changes. Tomorrow your schedule will have moved up an hour, what you were going to do at 7AM will now be doing at 6AM. Sure your clock will SAY 7AM but your clock will be lying. And your internal clock will know that. Especially with how we now start DST sooner, if your sunrise this morning was at 6 tomorrow it will be at 7, if your alarm clock is at 6 you used to get up with the sun, but tomorrow you will get up in the dark. Your schedule changes.

And the human knows it’s being lied to, and doesn’t like it:

HOGWASH !
It’s a government imposed bit of stupidity and THAT is why it won’t be stopped!
I bet you believe in GLOBAL WARMING/CLIMATE CHANGE too.

Just because it’s not going to disappear doesn’t mean it shouldn’t. Graduated income tax probably isn’t going away either, it also is stupid. Nobody benefits from DST. Some people are just better at believing lies.

My schedules work on “clock-time” ... and so does everyone else’s. You could have written down EVERY EVENT happening with you in June ... and could have done it in January, and even though DST would be off for June, you will have the EXACT SAME SCHEDULE as when you wrote it, when you were still on DST in January ... :-) ...

I actually know of no one who schedules things, like work or school or doctor’s appointments according to where the sun is at in the sky ... LOL ...

You may have been on FR for almost as long as I have, but you haven’t managed to learn anything in that time; it appears. You’re a BIG GOVERNMENT believing stooge.

No, “every event” won’t be “the same”! Oh the clocks may say that they hour is thus and so; however, my body claims otherwise and I shan’t be back to “normal”, until we all go back to REAL time again!

If it’s stupidity, it’s one that I can assure you that you’re not going to get voters to change it. Good luck trying. But better yet, save your efforts for something that more voters will support.

As for your reference to the Climate ... YES ... I’m firm believer in global warming, global cooling and climate change ... as they are absolutely verifiable and proven beyond all doubt! They have been in operation since God created the heavens and the earth.

But, if someone is talking about “Anthropogenic Global Warming” ... no ... I would say that is politicized science.

You ever see the letter to the editor in Arkansas decrying DST adding to global warming?

It adds significantly to my “We’re doomed” feeling when I see this...

dont you mean people should arrange their schedule to accommodate what you prefer? Because that is what you are saying. Everyone should adjust their work schedule to accommodate early daylight in the summer because thats the way you like it. At least be honest

Where I live it is getting dark in the winter by 4:30 or 5. And as they get older after school activities and sports often go til 5. Really.

Of course, if the forest fire started after sunrise but was expected to be contained by sundown...ha!

I do get one benefit in my evening commute as people don’t slow as much when it is still light (my morning commute is before the rush, but my evening commute is not)

Well, I best go start changing the umpteen million clocks in and around house now. I actually made a list out once and it helps a lot...it’s like every other thing seems to have a clock in it...even things like the clock inside answering machine and thermostats, things easy to miss. Some things change automatically.
At least I do get my clocks set accurate at same time.
