Foles era over, Bradford coming, but is Chip done dealing? (big trade day in the NFL)

The Eagles settled the long-running debate over whether Nick Foles is their quarterback of the future, as they neared completion Tuesday on a trade that will send him to St. Louis for QB Sam Bradford and what would seem to be a swap of second-round draft picks, a league source said, confirming a report by ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Bradford, 27, the 2010 No. 1 overall pick, has missed the past two seasons with ACL tears and would seem just as poor a fit as Foles for the read-option part of Chip Kelly's offense.

I wouldn’t touch Bradford or Palmer with a 10 ft pole. Both have had 2 surgeries on the same ACL injury. Palmer’s first one was extremely serious. Bradford’s previous injury was 1 year prior to the 2nd. There’s only so much available space to re-attach a ligament and have it perform at that level. If either can still walk when they’re 50, I’ll be surprised.

In addition, Bradford is not that good.

I remember his playing days at OU. In ‘normal’ games the camera would zoom in on him while the was looking at the sidelines to get the next play. There was a cold determination in his eyes.

In the national championship game, and when the camera would zoom in on him between plays, he had fear in his eyes. He already knew that OU was going to lose.

Man I love Chip Kelly! He is single handedly destroying the only team that can give my beloved Cowboys a problem next season. Keep it up Chip!

Probably going to try and trade Bradford and a few picks to a team near the top of the draft so they can draft Mariota. Not sure why they couldn’t have just done the same with Foles, who has fewer red flags, and skip bringing in Bradford, but Chip Kelly is hard to figure out in a lot of ways.

How good with the Cowboys be if they let Demarco Murray go?

Too bad for Sam. I like him but hate the Eagles.

Murray isn’t going anywhere, the Cowboys will re-sign him by the end of the week. You heard it here 1st!

With the offensive line they have, they probably can put in nearly any runner. Plus they have a quarterback that can make a team pay if they load the box.

I really don'r like the Cowboys, but that offensive line is awesome.

I wonder if anybody will ask if Kelly is anti-Christian?

Bradford was 3rd on the Rams as far as I saw...I thought Austin Davis was much better....

I’m a Bears fan. :-(

Thank you. I appreciate the sympathy.

Chip Kelly as GM might make the Bears (the worst front office in the NFL for 35 years) look good. His trades don’t make sense. Maybe he’s a lot smarter than the rest of use, but maybe he just thinks he is.

Time will tell.

That seems like a good trade for the Seahawks. They do better with later round draft choices than most teams, and Graham is a great target for Russell Wilson.

I hope you're right, but why wouldn't Kelly wait until draft day to make this trade. In my opinion Foles is better than Bradford. He better hope he can get Mariota or he will be run out of town. He better get DeMarco Murray too.

Really, really bad choice by Philadlphia. Foles is a very good quarterback but Bradford is unlikely to complete a full season wherever he goes.

Great trade for the Seahags who need receivers.

Ugh.. This SEEMS like a bogus deal.. but, for whatever reason, Graham just wasn’t that good this year. Maybe, the Saints know why?

Still though, I hate it.. for Drew.
