We use Malware Bytes and Hitman Pro. Both have a free 30 day use. I just searched for the name online and downloaded from their websites.

On phone or I’d supply links, sorry. Good luck.

AdwCleaner v4.112 - gets rid of adware which some antispyware are paid to overlook such as the ASK toolbar.
Works in about 5 minutes then it will restart your pc.

Superantispyware- use custom install so you can run the pro version for 30 days and also not to install the adware.

Malwarebytes

Other than a good antiviris I’ve found these two to work quite well:

Adware Cleaner - https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewdownload/1-adwcleaner/

Junk Removal Tool - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/junkware-removal-tool/

I'm just gonna take a wild stab at this and say...."The Internet".

I could be wrong though.

FileHippo.com is a good source for free and trial versions of software, and they have a number of good malware and adware removal tools.

Make sure that at least one of them that you choose is Malware Bytes.

Before you run your scan, remember to update the program’s list of malware, and remember to put all the settings on the toughest setting, and do a full scan, not a quick scan.

I like the CNET ratings system for software. Here is their listing for anti-spy and anti-malware.

http://download.cnet.com/windows/anti-spyware/3150-8022_4-0.html

Importantly, they use both their own internal rating and user’s ratings.

And always read 3 or 4 reviews on programs you are interested in using, especially if they are not well-known and recognized. I’ve caught more than a few that were stinkers, thankfully before downloading them. An ounce of prevention, etc. And always try to get your programs from the author’s website. CNET’s Download.com is notorious for nasty surprises in their software, and always run a virus scan on your downloads before installing them. Just my 2¢ worth...
