The Jebs of the world are gonna have a hard time beating up Cruz for wanting to follow the Constitution. Not much they can say there. Cruz should just ask why that is considered “fringe”.

I can guarantee that there will be only ONE rino, and if there are two conservatives guess what we end up with? Cruz and Walker need to make a deal that whoever is behind by super Tuesday drops out. Otherwise it'll be Jeb vs.Hill.

My wife had given up hope but now is energized by Cruz. Today she had lunch with lib friends who brought him up. She said, “For the first time in 6 years I have HOPE (throwing that word back in their faces) and also love that I will be able to vote for a Hispanic President.” Total silence.

One of the broadcasters was saying something about the Cruz last night, that he was the first to announce and guessed we’d better set the election timer, “after all it is only 590 days until election”. Lots of sarcasm in his voice. Pretty funny. OTOH, I personally would be quite happy if they didn’t begin until at least six months before election. Gets more than a little old after while.
Who pays the bills at Salon? While it was still being traded on the stock market (at a dime a share) it would get an annual influx of $$$ from some contributors.
We are 8-10 years after that point, I think, now. So how do they stay afloat? Who funds it? I guess that it is cheaper to run a blog than buying political advertising.
Minor parties do it.
VP originated as a unifying nod to the losing side. Dumped almost immediately and became a kind of consolation prize. No reason to pick a VP before absolutely necessary.
It would be cool to see a pre-primary candidate name a VP and at least one or two other cabinet officers.
I thnk some parliamentary systems have a practice of the opposition having a designated shadow government, where the shadow “minister” is expected to become the real one. I’d like to see that too.
But heck, we won’t even demand candidates name their majority leader picks when running for Congress.
