Skip to comments.Kerry: Ben Franklin Could Not Be Confirmed to Office If He Lived Today
Posted on 05/25/2015 12:28:57 PM PDT by Olog-hai
At a reception at the State Department that marked the U.S. taking over the chairmanship of the Arctic Council, Secretary of State John Kerry said that if Benjamin Franklin lived today and was nominated for office he would never be confirmed. [ ]
(T)here is, of course, a second connection between Franklin and this reception, Kerry said. And that is that he liked to have a really good time, folks. And he didnt spare the booze, and while he was in Paris he led a life that clearly meant that had he lived today and been nominated, he would never have been confirmed for office. (Laughter.) Anyway, it just goes to show how the times change.

Because he was an old white dude?
Does hillary clinton KNOW that you’re making these sorts of statements?
this could be a FIGHT!!
skerry must be having another affair and drinking heavily again.
Franklin was a genius.
You, Ketchup Boy, are a traitor.
There are many, many topics on which I could not possibly care less what John Kerry’s opinion is, and this is certainly one of them.
I hears hes a homo
I guess that means that Heinz .....now has 58 Varieties??
Q: What to John Kerry and Ben Franklin have in common.
A: They both drink. But Franklin could hold his liquor.
I’ve heard that Franklin enjoyed female companionship, along the lines of stories of JFK and Bill Clinton. If Franklin were a Democrat he would be confirmed today to high office.
There once was a time when Massachusetts produced fine men, men who had a strength of character and decency and intelligence, whose principles led to the founding of this nation.
Sadly, those days have long passed by, with Massachusetts sinking to the level where it produced the likes of Ted Kennedy, Barney Frank, John Kerry, and other feckless idiots, traitors, and criminals.
Problem is, someone is actually going to believe the outrageous pack of lies he just told. Never underestimate the capacity for delusion in a left-indoctrinated mind.
Confirmed; WE suffer Kerry’s diarrhea of the mouth.
Blind squirrel finds nut. Kerry is right. Franklin could never be confirmed to a cabinet post or ambassadorship now. Why? Because he believed in republican virtue and limited government, and therefore the left would dig up stories about his womanizing and use them to vilify him in the media during his confirmation hearings, while every Democrat senator postured hypocritically about moral issues and bloviated that confirming Franklin would be a concession to the Republican “War on Women”.
I guess we have a problem then, don't we.
If Franklin was alive today he'd be running some huge tech company he'd founded.
I doubt John Tower could be confirmed by the Senate today. Oh, wait.
Jean-Francois Kerre`can have a good time?
How could anybody tell if he is having either a good day or a bad day?
You know what you ugly jerk, neither could Jesus Christ, judging by what the democrats believe-and REJECT-at their own convention!
Franklin’s last office was that of ambassador to France. In other words, working for Kerry. And given that Franklin isn’t a heavy-rolling donor to the Democrat party, no, he probably would never have been nominated for the post.
