No.

Just a twisted take on a famous quote from the movie “The Patriot” - and in incredibly poor taste, by the way.

Possibly the most twisted and sick thing I’ve ever posted at FR.

The good news is, it’s unlikely I’ll be able to sink any lower...

I thought everyone knew about the *best* dog hairdryer?

For some reason, my chocolate lab never goes to the window when it's down. She's been in the family since birth, so there were no traumatic experiences. She just lies down and goes to sleep.

They could easily put an automatic stop timer on the dryer that makes it stop after 5 min or 10 min or whatever time is deemed safe after which it would require a human to come check and reactivate it.

If that had been my dog the groomer would have to be VERY worried for the rest of their life......

What might be safe for one breed, may not be for another. No, the best thing is to trash them and rely on a handheld appliance where the operator can be assured the dog is not getting overheated.

I enjoyed it. People get so wound up about their pets and animals in general. (And I say that as someone whose dog died three weeks ago.)

Did Petco hire Beavis and Butthead?

Very sad. This woman loses her husband and gets a buddy so she isn’t alone. Some nitwit kills the dog. I can only imagine she is blaming herself in some ways since she was the one who brought him there. Well, that’s how I would feel.

What a beautiful dog. How sad. I am not really in favor of suing over mistakes like this even though they are terribly tragic. I think Petco should offer some compensation without being sued — not a fortune, but a few thousand dollars. People often have quite a bit invested in their dog. As for emotional compensation — no. Life happens and the world isn’t perfect. I wouldn’t take another pet to that Petco for grooming, though.

We use to take our miniature Schnauzer to PETCO for trimming. Luckily we found a professional groomer that would take her.

As for compensation I would make sure PETCO felt the pain and use that money for a rescue foundation or something like that.

The dog was a beautiful puppy. So sad. I do not think demanding that groomers be licensed will guarantee that groomers will be nice or not make mistakes. Let’s face it: bathing a dog is not rocket science.

Any time you give your dog to someone else you are taking a risk. Heck, even in your own care accidents can happen. Dogs can get themselves into all sorts of trouble. The dryer issue is horrible. I don’t see how having a license would have made a difference. A licensed groomer could have forgotten the dog in the dryer too. Maybe they should rethink the amount of heat in those dryers. I would rather pick up a dog that is still a little wet than an overheated or dead dog.

Turns out this is not the first dog to die at PETCO from these hair dryers.

It has also happened at PetSmart.
