How much would you pay them if they could tell you how many bowel movemnents you had in your life?

Okay. We picked on the common cold. Let’s see the excuse for the common flu that the boy’s can’t cure.

What about the kitty poop virus?

Not a virus: Toxoplasma gondii

Sounds harder than guessing weight at the state fair.

Given that they cannot confirm the right answer, they lose and I get the blacklight poster of LED Zeppelin on the right.

So, here’s my question:

Isn’t every rhinovirus (common cold) a rather unique virus? Isn’t that why it’s so hard to cure the common cold? Because it’s different every time? If this test lists every virus you’ve had, won’t it list about 60 colds that you’ve had in your lifetime? And do they all have names? I mean, the “mumps” virus is one thing, but the cold I had in the winter of 1979 was really bad — but how will it be identified (named)?

...

I have a feeling all the colds will be categorized as one species of virus. I don’t think the test will be all that useful for most people.

There is already a test to see if you had chickenpox. If you test positive you should get the shingles vaccine. Shingles is nasty and you definitely want to avoid it.

I’m not following your post at all.

Nor I.
I suspect a well-meaning foreign poster without quite a firm grasp of the English language, complicated by a foreign syntax (German?)

Can't you have antibodies against viruses without actually having had the virus?? -Tom

I'm guessing "NO", by definition.

Natural biologic systems would have to be prescient...
Or be imbued by "genetic memory" of every virus in the universe.

That’s as good of a guess as any and better than any of mine. I couldn’t catch a hook on any of it.

“What good is this if modern medicine they can’t cure the common cold?”

Sounds like just another way to skin the cat, is all.
