On Thursday, KTLA-5 reported on hidden camera footage that showed some objectionable behavior from police officers during a raid on an unlicensed marijuana dispensary. The cops were recorded playing darts on the job, eating pot-laced baked goods, and even joking about assaulting a woman with an amputated leg.
The footage shows that eight officers had masks on and their guns drawn when they entered Sky High Holistic, shouting everybody on the ground to customers and workers. After clearing the building of everyone present, the police began to remove the stores mounted surveillance cameras, though they did not get the ones hidden by the owners when they heard about the upcoming raid.
Marla James, the amputee seen in the footage, intends to sue the city for allegations of police misconduct. Her reasons stem from a part of the video showing that as soon as she left the building, the cops started to crack jokes about her condition. One cop even said, I was about to kick her in her fing nub.
They intimidated me. They threatened me, James said, who is considered legally blind. What they did, it was like shooting fish in a barrel.

Well, it might explain a few things...
These police are like Vic Mackey’s Strike Force in “The Shield”, only less professional and more corrupt.
As an avid police defender, I say fry these pukes! They are disgraces to good officers.
We need to bring back stocks and rotten veggies as options for teaching these idiots with a badge a lesson.
AGREED !!
Give them all a urinalysis tests !
The job is difficult enough sane and sober
but 'under the influence', they should be terminated .
A cop wearing a ski mask looks like a bullseye.
Well you might have even more original video if your crew hadn't destroyed every surveillance camera they found.
I'd be willing to bet the only reform from this is to bring electronic detection equipment to hunt down hidden cameras on all future raids.
Suspect that's what made them so cranky, had to make do with cookies. These guys need to be removed from the force, and should be personally liable for damages.
The only way to catch a doper is you yourself become a toker". SGT Stadanko
This should be enough to get a warrant to raid their homes to search for any and all evidence they may have stolen over the years.

Raid should be done at 3am with lots of flash bangs...
All cops should have working cameras on their collars at all times. I want to see exactly what they do. It's for their protection as well as everyone else.
The video was edited and released by the woman’s defense attorney. Do you really think he didn’t put it to together to elicit your exact response?
When I watch the video, I see officers eating, but I don’t see anything that shows what, or where the food came from. (I didn’t listen to the audio because my profound hearing loss makes it worthless) Quite frankly, if Santa Ana Police Department has fomented such an atmosphere of corruption that officers are comfortable stealing, and consuming a controlled substance in the presence of several other officers, the department needs to be disbanded. This alone makes me doubt they are eating pot laced treats.
What the female officer says is offensive as a public statement, but she said it in private conversation with people she works with. If we secretly recorded your conversations would you ever say anything that might reflect poorly?
As for the recording equipment, if you watch, an officer places the video recording device near the front door. I got the impression he was taking it as evidence. If that is true, there is, or may be a reason to remove the cameras.
The media accomplished what they set out to do, continue to make all law enforcement look corrupt, and stoke distrust. We wont hear the outcome of this if Santa Ana PD establishes that everything in this video is falsely represented, but this story accomplished what was intended.
The problem is that these are the average under age 30 cops nowadays. I have, off and on known and sometimes worked with law enforcement officers over the last 30 years. I have seen a disturbing shift in attitudes.
The average cop now thinks themselves above the law. I have seen it up close and unvarnished. I no longer trust law enforcement, the courts or any government employee.
All that said, yes there are shining exceptions of great officers. Used to be that the bad ones were the exceptions......
They are On VIDEO Consuming Narcotics while carrying LOADED GUNS, They ALL Belong in PRISON for a minimum of 10 Years General Population, immediate termination of ALL Benefits, including retirement. Then A minimum of 50% Civil Asset Forfeiture.
