Seeing that Missouri, Kentucky, Maryland, and Delaware all stayed loyal to the Union, with their slaves, and slavery there existed LONGER than in the CSA, that must mean that Old Glory needs to go too!

Pure and simple, Rand Paul is a genuine douchebag who doesn’t get it. This isn’t about the Confederate Flag, the ultimate goals of the leftists/socialists and commies is the American flag. Rand Paul even went to Al Sharpton to get the black vote.

Rand Paul is an idiot. The Confederate flag represents the states that had the courage to defy the feds and declare that the states had the right to govern themselves. Too bad they lost. It never was about slaves, only about States Rights.

I’m getting tired of “stick my finger in the wind” and follow fast trends and fads politicians.

I find it interesting that other than Rush and Levin not ONE “Republican” bothers to mention the Confederate Flags are the result of DEMOCRATS!!!!!

Democrats are the biggest racist on the planet. Abortion, ubran ‘renewal’, welfare, lynchings, KKK, etc.

The GOP is full of COWARDS. I’m done with them. Been on their side since 1976 and NO MORE. No money, no volunteering and no voting for them.

And NO, the Dems at this point are NOT WORSE! FU Boehner and McConnell and Rubio and McCain and Graham and my two worthless senators that make the Bobsie Twins from Maine look conservative: Lamar and Corker! I hate them both.

Well that’s a disappointment. Rand is loosing some of the courage that once made him so attractive. Looks like he is turning into another sell out.

Well the PC hysteria is peaking and like I said before it will swirl for a few more days til the SCOTUS hands down their decision to stick all 57 states with gay marriage and then you won’t here another word about the flat as the new outrage of the month will take over.

From my tagline, about FDR and the New Deal. It is ALL happening again.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2185147/posts

Excerpt:

Having passed this crisis, the New Deal went on from one problem to another, taking them in the proper order, according to revolutionary technic; and if the handling of one was inconsistent with the handling of another, even to the point of nullity, that was blunder in reverse.

The effect was to keep people excited about one thing at a time, and divided, while steadily through all the uproar of outrage and confusion a certain end, held constantly in view, was pursued by main intention.

The end held constantly in view was power.

What we are seeing is the socialist cascade.
Manipulation done as reinforcement to itself.
After all who would stand against the will of the
“people”. Of course it’s only the media mouthpieces
and frightened repubEs who are afraid to take a stand.
They think they’ll be eaten last because they don’t
study history.

If a person would stop and think about it, the south
only wanted to leave a voluntary union, no one told
them there was no turning back. So what we have is
a federal organism coercing by forced oppression.

So/Com dialectic doesn’t permit opposing views,
NOW or in the past and it will only get worse
as it “progresses”.

You make a good point. I was thinking along those lines today, without the historic underpinning: the left has been vilifying the United States for so viciously and for so long they are not far from wanting the US flag to go as well.

Before he was killed in the final five months of the war General Patrick Cleburne predicted how the South would be portrayed...

“Every man should endeavor to understand the meaning of subjugation before it is too late... It means the history of this heroic struggle will be written by the enemy; that our youth will be trained by Northern schoolteachers; will learn from Northern school books their version of the war; will be impressed by the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors, and our maimed veterans as fit objects for derision... It is said slavery is all we are fighting for, and if we give it up we give up all. Even if this were true, which we deny, slavery is not all our enemies are fighting for. It is merely the pretense to establish sectional superiority and a more centralized form of government, and to deprive us of our rights and liberties.” – Patrick Cleburne, CSA

It is clearly not a matter of direct causation, and I do not think it to be accurate to suggest anyone truly thinks the stars and bars alone to be a direct cause which, to some, are a clear emblem of white supremacy and the oppression of blacks.

For this reason, some think it is a good idea not to wave it over buildings that in fact represent the opposite, namely one people, under God, with liberty and justice for all, including those who want to fly the stars and bars in other places both public and private.

There is no harm in granting a properly executed, lawful request to refrain from hanging the stars and bars in certain places, as the local people see fit to govern themselves. The Charleston shooting serves as a way for us to examine, among other things, emblems that, for some, are intimidating.

If any harm is to come of this, it would be a prohibition against thinking and speaking one’s mind in matters of life, and of incarcerating or persecuting those who are opposed to aggressions against life and property no matter what the source.

The Confederate flag represents the states that had the courage to defy the feds . . .

It also represents, to our poorly educated masses, a cause for which a whacko boy will whack 9 Christians without fear or repentance. The association, however true or false, for decades has been clearly brought to bear on that symbol.
