I remember of reading how someone got the bright idea of shattering the ancient colored glass in the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. It was then replaced with clear glass.
After Victor Hugo wrote his novel THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME and described the colored light coming in, great sadness hit Paris as they remembered how in a flighty moment they had destroyed the ancient glass.
Now it is happening here!
