Next all mention of the Confederate heroes must be expunged from the history books. Well, that is almost the case already in the schools..
This is only the beginning. History that isn’t PC has to be dropped into the memory hole.
Only ISIS may be more religiously fanatic than the Left.
He wasn’t a “founder” of the KKK...
Six students from Pulaski College founded the KKK when they
started riding in costume after dark as a prank...They saw that it frightened people and they took it from there...
Forrest later joined, then led them against northern “carpetbaggers” who were taking advantage of the south’s defeat and subsequent economical struggles after the war.
When the KKK turned racist, he left them....
BS - listen, Leftists want all others not like them to be slaughtered. The even want the centuries old dead dug up and thrown is the trash. Get used to it and get
" . . . in their face about it" "Punish our enemies"
Is it enough to dig up the remains? Shouldn’t they also mix the remains with sewage, then stomp on them, shouting how “we hate these people!” then burn the remains and place them in a Garbage Heap of Shame, exhibited in the town square, for people to jeer at and ridicule?
The numbnuts students (and teacher clones) probably didn’t even know who Nathan Beford Forest was.
It is not going to stop until we are all dead, in prison, or have re-education graduation certificates. With obamacare one’s political views surely weigh in the bureaucratic decision on whether one is allowed medical care.
The Fort Pillow “Massacre” has two sides, the nion one that says the Confederates “Massacred” the black union soldiers, while Confederate officers maintained that they refused all attempts to surrender, and fled UNDER ARMS, which makes them legit targets, even if fleeing.
Don’t hold your breath waiting for a GOP spokesman to oppose this. The GOPe will be at the scene holding the coats.
This will make a bunch of the liberal confederate bashers here at FR real happy.
Why wait until they're dead?
Post of the day. You have won the internets for the day.
I see you are more aware than most, so I should not have tweaked you. I am descended from a Southern family that had freed slaves before the Civil War. For about half the states, slavery was not the issue. The other half included it in their articles, so cannot deny it. For the Union, it was about Secession first and later slavery. It is difficult to find anyone who was completely correct in hindsight.
Does repentance not count for anything? After the war, Forrest repented and gave his heart to Jesus, adopted a black baby and even preached the gospel a bit.
He’s accused of foundind the KKK. Correction: He founded an organization which, after Forrest dropped out of its operations, was swerved into the extreme regions where it BECAME the KKK. Can’t blame Forrest for that any more than one could blame Abe Lincoln for what’s been done to the GOP. IMHO.
>>>Wheres his daddy buried?<<
Probably under a pile of discarded Solar Panels at Al Gore Jr.’s Massive Country Estate.
Democrats who desecrate Graves for $1000 Alex.
Nathan Bedford Forrest was an interesting man. I think his life should be taught in public schools as an example of how good men sometimes do bad things, bad men sometimes do good things, and that the book of a man’s life needs to be read to the final sentence of the final page. I wouldn’t hold him up as either saint or devil, but proof that men are complex beings - and capable of change.
His life is virtually a single person lesson on how tough life was in the early 1800s and how men responded - both good and bad.
I'd say "Hey, it's *Memphis*...", but it's not just that rancid old river town. At the opposite end of the state, the city of Nashville is trying to hide a statue of Forrest from public view (it's on private property) by voting to erect a foliage barrier to prevent drivers on a nearby roadway from seeing the statue.
Someone needs to ask these city councils where this agenda item was two or three weeks ago.
Absolutely outrageous.
