Also think clafouti - a French dessert that is basically Yorkshire pudding with cherries.
many thanks...someone gave me a link to it earlier..I’ve already ordered one...can’t wait
My pleasure. We have one. It works. :)
I think I saw it years ago, in a catalog; so it’s been around awhile. We just ordered the leaf-shaped one, for kale. Will let folks know how it does.

Love our crock pots down here in Texas! Easy cooking with no heating up the house too much in the 100+ degree, ‘balmy’ summer days.
Have you ever substituted this for bacon in a BLT? It is delicious! In the 90s there was sandwich shop in Decatur GA, which served crispy cheese wafers in a sandwich with lettuce and tomato on toast. YUM!

Oh gosh; gadgets are going to be my downfall. I realized today that I need to stop watching cooking videos and then running to Amazon for the gadgets in them; or my bank will break.
This morning I found a video by my favorite You-Tuber, where he made Tsukemono (Japanese pickle) and demonstrated a Japanese pickle press .
Of course, I had to have one; and a book to go with it; and you can see where this is headed if it remains a routine habit ;-)
However, while watching the video I got the instinctive feeling that the rectangular shape is not ideal for this gizmo; and indeed, they make round ones, and some Amazon reviewers indicate that the round ones function much better. Here’s Dale using his press:

But first, I need something else more urgently. Yesterday the grocery had lovely celery, so I bought four big bunches and diced them up for the Excalibur dehydrator. Now my hands and fingers insist that they are never participating in such an exercise again, so I need some kind of manual chopper/dicer.
Does anyone have experience with things like ‘Slap Chop’ or the Vidalia Chop Wizard? I’m wondering which would be better for dicing celery uniformly, and if any of these things really hold up.
Thanks for any suggestions.

I’ve never had any luck with those chopper gadgets. Imho, nothing works better than a good sharp knife.
Well, I found this, which looks like it would hold up; but I haven’t won the lottery yet:

It looks good, but it is expensive. Still, if you were to use it often, it might be worth spending the money.
It has to get in line...a LONG line ;-)
I hear you. :)
