A Missouri man was charged Sunday with murdering his 74-year-old father by lying on his head until the man lost consciousness, to prove "how big and bad" he was, authorities said.
Kyle Webb, 44, of Grandview, Missouri, is charged with killing Franklin Webb late Saturday night at a home they shared after the father complained about the way his son was cleaning up around a leaky pipe, according to a police report.

Not to nitpick, but it should be “laying” not “lying.”

The grammar is correct. It should be lying not laying.
Inanimate objects lay. Animate objects (people, animals, etc.) lie.
Animate subjects lay inanimate objects. She lays the book on the desk. “Lay” works a lot like “set” in that it requires an object while “lie” does not.
Eeeeeek! This whole deal is a nightmare! - And us debating grammar. - I went to school back in the horse & buggy days & even standing in the corner wearing the dunce hat didn’t help me much.
I hear you. My English teacher would be amused to know I’d wind up debating grammar on the interwebs given what a lousy student I was back in the day...
