Even with an ever-increasing population, the pay TV industry (cable and satellite) lost a net 566,000 subscribers last quarter. When you add in Q1, thats a total of 887,000 lost customers in just six short months. There is just no question that customers are getting tech savvy and budget savvy. Why pay $60, $70 or more for cable tv that has the same channels and for network tv have lower screen resolution due to compression. The only difference is you end up using 2 remotes and change channels a bit differently. One more thing is to get Netflix and or Amazon Prime. Both are cheap at about $8/month.

Cable could have been a good thing. But like everything else liberals touch, they ruined it.
The FOX ‘debate’ is only the latest debacle to cause more to grab those scissors and ‘cut the cord’.

Recently had 2 PCs fail and had to move to Chromecast.
My husband has to watch the Golf channel and like HGTV. Pretty soon we’re going to both be watching football. So how do you do that with no cable?

People watch the darndest things. My did sits all day and watches people house hunting. Think about that. I saw a show on where a guy was fixing a bolt on a bulldozer with dramatic music and all.
There is something called WWW.TVADDONS.AG - also named KODI.
My Russian tech guy set it up - said you can watch anything for free. I haven’t done it yet but plan on trying. When he was here he found Game of Thrones available. I refuse to pay for HBO.
I could literally watch episodes of “How It’s Made” all day.
The problem with cable TV is I pay to have the trash taken out, not delivered...

Myself as well.... saved a “bundle” of money and get all I want and need right on my computer....or pop in a cd movie of my favorites here.
My family says that they will disown me if I watch one episode.
However, if they ‘want’ something or it’s my birthday - guess who gets to watch How it’s made? :)
