Donald Trump Biography Is Lively As Novel

TRUMP

By Jerome Tuccille (Donald I. Fine, Inc., New York), 1985, $17.95, 235 pages, available in stock or by order at local bookstores such as B. Dalton and Waldenbooks.

Romance, intrigue, controversy, alleged impropriety, success, family problems: this new biography of Donald Trump, 38, the successful developer of New York`s Grand Hyatt Hotel, Trump Plaza, Trump Tower, Atlantic City`s Harrah`s Casino and the owner of the USFL New Jersey Generals, is a book not to be missed.

Author Jerome Tuccille has done an admirable job of gathering information about Trump and artfully organizing it into a lively, fast-paced book that reads like a novel.

In the book`s ``acknowledgments`` Tuccille chronicles how he tried many times but failed to get Trump`s cooperation in developing this book. It is hard to understand how such a well-written biography could have been done without the subject`s help. But Tuccille nevertheless managed to interview most of Trump`s close friends and some of his enemies. All are liberally quoted.

Using his father`s political connections and financial stability, Trump began in Manhattan by acquiring from the bankrupt Penn Central Railroad both abandoned freight yards and the crumbling old Commodore Hotel adjacent to Grand Central Station.

In a series of bold moves, Trump managed to buy these properties with virtually none of his own money. This ``nothing down`` formula is repeated over and over in Trump`s later developments.

If you enjoy learning from the successes of others, reading this book will be time well invested. As Trump moves from one success to another, with several projects building concurrently, Tuccille does a masterful job of not confusing the reader with all that`s happening in Trump`s life at the same time.

I'm just finishing this old 1985 unauthorized biography that I picked up in a used bookstore for $1. I highly recommend this book if you want to understand what goes on inside Trump's head and what motivates him.

Trump in his 20's was making successful deals in the hundreds of millions of dollars. I must say that after reading this book and understanding how he played politics and used politicians to make all his money, Trump is the most strategic thinker I have ever read about. I am a student of strategy and this man is head and shoulders above anyone in politics today.

I'm not supporting him as I do not trust his individual motives, but still want to know everything I can about him in order to understand how he thinks.

Lots of used copies on Amazon for cheap.

Love to hear from anyone else who has read this book.

Just bought it. If anyone can take on the uniparty and corruption that we call government he seems uniquely qualified.
As to his motives as long as one is to restore sanity to government some of others can be tolerated

As my pape use to say, ‘Were all born liberal, it’s just that some stay Stupid.”

Sounds like an interesting read.

They say that sometimes an ex con makes the best cop as they know the system. Donald sure knows the system and how to play the game.

This book outlines his lifetime of paying politicians to get what he wanted. Keep in mind, the book was written thirty years ago. Maybe he has redeemed himself.

This book outlines the dynamics of his childhood including his parents and siblings. Those are Donald’s perceptual programming events that established the patterns of personality for his entire life.

It touches on his 4 years there. He was quite a brat. It goes into several of his mischievous pranks.

It mentions a lot of his connections such as his lawyer Roy Cohn but does not disclose that this self proclaimed personal friend of Trumps was also the attorney for the crime bosses in NYC.

Trump was doing deals in NYC in the construction industry that was run by organized crime. He payed to play. Trump did what he had to do to stay in business in a corrupt environment. If you Google S&A Concrete you will find that Trump built Trump Tower with S&A Concrete, Inc. which was owned by Anthony Salerno, head of the Genovese crime family, and Paul Castellano, head of the Gambinos. This same S&A built dozens of other Trump properties.

I’m not holding this against Trump. I’m just stating that he was playing with snakes as that was the only way you could do major construction in NYC.

Story on the trump history thread about his dad and the cement company. Cut them a check for one million when he owes them 900,000. Makes sense now.

I’ll link this thread to that one.
