Author James Dawson has received backlash from parents for his guide to growing up LGBT, This Book Is Gay, claiming they no longer feel comfortable taking their children to the library if his book is on the shelves, reports The Guardian.
In Wasilla, Alaska, after a 10-year-old boy picked up the book from the juvenile non-fiction section of the public library, his mother was "shocked to find it contained frank drawings and descriptions of gay sex acts inside".
The mother launched an appeal after she was told by the local librarian that it was appropriately shelved, leading to dozens of locals banding together at a council meeting on Monday to debate the issue.

Try to get a subscription to National Review, World Magazine, or anything NRA related on the shelves of your local library and see what happens...
Now we know what kind of people are running the library where they accused Mayor Palin of censoring books.
Every library censors books. Since no library buys every single book available, and most sell/throw away older books that are still in good condition, every book discarded, sold or not purchased is to some degree censored.
It would not be hard to find a book more worthy of taxpayer dollars than “This Book is Gay”.
They write blogs there too.

Employing occasionally snarky, informal language, Dawson provides very direct, frank guidance (among the subheadings are “Doing the Sex” and “Why Are Gay Men So Slutty?”)...

Most homosexuals were molested as children.
They now seek to “normalize” the behavior so they can more easily molest your children.
Having a Bible in the library would be racist, oppressive, sexist, hateful, narrow-minded, discriminatory, bigoted, intolerant, and would be offensive to atheists, freaks, Obamabots, homos, MooSlimes, pedophiles and trannies. Therefore, it would be banned.
Having a Koran (snort...hock...ptooi) in the library would be inclusive, tolerant, diplomatic, multicultural, celebratory, sensitive, gender-free and non-discriminatory to atheists, freaks, Obamabots, homos, MooSlimes, pedophiles and trannies.
Therefore, there’s no question that many copies would be available at your local branch and you’d be considered racist, oppressive, sexist, hateful, narrow-minded, discriminatory, bigoted and intolerant if you didn’t want to sign it out and read the filth printed within.
I have seen this in my local branch of the Seattle Public Library. Virtually every left wing magazine that you can think of is on the racks, From Mother Jones, New Republic and the Nation to the Advocate. The closest thing to a conservative publication is the Wall Street Journal.
