I don’t have any issues with cats but I think I would have had the cat euthanized in this case.

What is the point of this? If it is for science to gain knowledge to help people, fine. If they think they are helping cats, think again, and why that kind of help. Weird, people would abort a child with this defect but do the work on a cat.

I'm a cat adorer, and I agree with you. As he ages, the lack of back legs will be an excruciating weight against a quality life. There is nothing cruel about alleviating a condition and an attempted remedy the cat has no understanding about.

Exactly. Just because it might make me feel good to save the cat doesn’t mean it is good for the cat.

However as another poster points out, it may help with advances in prosthetics for people.

Weird, people would abort a child

We're talking about helpless animals on this thread, not unborn children. Here is the abortion thread you're looking for........

Heres your abortion thread

Helpless animals yes. But doing this is simply torture.

And an unborn baby is NOT a helpless animal? My point is people care more for a deformed cat that should have been euthanized than their fellow humans.

Vetinarians don’t get federal money so this was either paid, donations, or work for free. Medicare and other programs get tons of tax payer money so if people are not getting wheelchairs then they are not paying the little amount due on them or the government is not running the program correctly. Not everything on Earth needs to be free wheelchairs included.

Animals & people are able to adjust to some very extreme
situations & come out of it better for it. We do the best
we can.

I'm well aware of what your point is......You obviously missed mine. WE ALL are concerned about abortions, WE ALL are concerned about animal welfare.

THIS THREAD happens to be about animal welfare and any attempt by you or anyone else to bring in the abortion issue should take it to the thread I provided you with. There you can discuss abortion to your heart's content.........

Why is that a problem for you?

As a side note, this technology will eventually transfer to humans..........It's a good thing
