Skip to comments.Donald Trump: 'Schlonged' was not a vulgar insult

Nearly 24 hours after he said that Hillary Clinton had been "schlonged" by Barack Obama during her failed 2008 presidential campaign, Donald Trump took to Twitter to defend his comments.
Schlonged, the Republican businessman said in a tweet, was not a vulgar reference to a penis. Instead, he argued, he meant "beaten badly."
Once again, #MSM is dishonest. "Schlonged" is not vulgar. When I said Hillary got "schlonged" that meant beaten badly.

Trump went on to defend his comments, saying that NPR's Neal Conan had once used the phrase to refer to the trouncing at the polls that the Walter Mondale-Geraldine Ferraro presidential ticket received in the 1984 election.
(woo-hoo, did not take Trump long to respond)

I think they used the swan with the long neck instead of a long schwanz just to be polite.
Merry Christmas, my old friend!
This IS an argument WITH insults and Hillary started it!
And Hillary is NOT a New Yorker and never shall be one; she’s a damned carpet bagger.
And a Merry Christmas to YOU and yours !
"Hey Butthead, he said 'schlong', huh-huh-huh-huh..."
That statement is way beyond deliberately ambiguous. To the point of uselessness.
You don't happen to be a liberal, would you?
Merry Christmas to you, too :)
Ditter is baby talk for sister, my baby brother came up with it about 68 years ago.
Merry Christmas to you too!
It was a popular saying back in the 80s and I didn’t know what it meant until I asked.
My husband always jokes with me that I say terms that are popular with 80 year olds.
I think the newest term for this is “peen.”
Love it. Same with my screen name. I love my brothers but sometimes I want to smack them in the head too.
LOL! I am my Bubba’s. Ditter.
Should have washed his mouth out with soap. :)
And get Soap Poisoning?
The Guardian is a notably left-wing newspaper in England. They start off with an anti-Trump bias from the get-go.
The Google (also liberal) definition is of the "noun" schlong. which is not the same word Trump used.
The word Trump used is a "verb"--schlonged. The definitions are varied but none are obscene. As Trump relates, NPR's Neal Conan had once used the phrase to refer to the trouncing at the polls that the Walter Mondale-Geraldine Ferraro presidential ticket received in the 1984 election.
If it is okay for a liberal reporter from NPR to use as an innocuous term for "trouncing" in an election and there was no uproar back then, then Trump can use it now in referring to Hillary being "schlonged" or trounced in the 2008 democRAT primary by Obama.
Much to do about nothing except from the liberal media and the anti-Trump forces. He will rise in the polls again for slapping political correctness and Hillary in the butt.
You may be right.
This is classic. Trump gets people like Jeff Greenfield to restate it and say it’s perfectly fine.
I’m telling you, Trump is causing PC heads to explode across the country.
