I know that the two rescues my daughter has have given her a wonderful amount of emotional support. She will fully agree that they have “rescued” her as much as she them.
They are big dogs and have done a number on our wood floors (they visit us a lot), but a small sacrifice for the pleasure of their company.
Yep, you are right on both counts. :)
Sounds like your Dad was my kind of guy.
Good life, well lived.
Bird dogs, farm dogs , hunting dogs.
Life without a DOG ain’t life at all.
If their ain’t no DOGS in heaven, I ain’t goin.
None of my current six are what you could call rescues, they all rescued their daddy from what you could call an otherwise barren life.
None of them live long enough; I have had to say goodby to five and it never gets any easier, (67 year old Marine, and I still cry like a baby).
My current pack of 6 rescues is the only thing that makes life worth going on.
I have four and two are getting up there in years. The puppies learn so much from the older dogs. It makes the training much easier.
:-)
