This writer is a kook. I thought he was going to say something clever. Chemical pesticide is not healthy.

But "Fair Trade" is a scam. It is supposed to benefit poor farmers, but truly poor farmers cannot pay to get certified, etc.

The only thing that is better if grown organically is strawberries.
And that is only because I grow my own and let them actually get ripe.
The bugs and snails get a lot, but I get enough.

There is no pesticide-free food. The self-labeled “organic” farmers use pesticides—they just have a list of so-called “natural” pesticides, just as toxic, but deemed okay for “organic” use.

The whole “organic” foods thing is nothing but a scam.

That is what YOU ARE — a SCAM !

What NONSENSE !

I’m pretty sure the organic stuff in the super market is a good deal more expensive than the regular produce. And not nearly as good looking. I choose not to pay extortion prices for substandard produce.

Nope, just a scientist who understands the physics, biology, and chemistry of raising food, and who sees the paganistic/gaia worshipping roots of the whole "organic" foods movement.

The only difference between "organic" and "conventional" farmers is the kind of pesticide they use.

> The resistance to GMO food puzzles me. Because virtually all food grown for human consumption is the product of extensive hybridization.

Tomatoes are a nightshade family plant. They have an alkaloid in the layer just beneath the skin. Normally it is so low in concentration that it is harmless, but generically modify it to increase the alkaloid levels and it will kill white fly larva and other insect pests; it will also make me vomit a half hour or so after eating, so I have to be careful and only buy non-GMO.

Yes, the pickers poop in the field occasionally. But in an organic vegetable field every single plant is fertilized with poop. Yes I always wash my vegetables very very well.

No only the workers, once in awhile and the poop fertilizers, but the birds, bees, coyotes, gophers, mice, bats and more.

They all poop on the farmers ground.
