When Paul Ryan speaks, we know he’s Lyin.
“So how could a real common everyday worker or farmer run for office today?”
Let’s see....:
Talk like an adult,
Learn to express an idea.
Communicate an understanding of the problem and express the solution in sufficient detail to convey a probability of success.
Attack your opponent’s ideas by presenting better ideas.
Avoid the name calling and school yard taunts.
Do your damn homework to ensure you’re up to speed on critical issues not in your daily wheelhouse.
Ensure you’ve established a good ground game for your campaign, as your “charm” will not be sufficient.
Oh, you mean like Fiorina, or Jeb Bush?
No, I mean NOT like Trump.
Qualified? What do you believe would make a candidate “qualified?”
You can seemingly express outcomes only in terms of “not Trump.” Given that, I’m not sure you’re even qualified to vote, much less pontificate.
I was fully expressive in post #42.
It was your obtuse example that was immature by pretending to miss the obvious point.
Qualified, as in they have the skills, education, and experience to demonstrate that they are able to do the job.
Have you ever applied for a job that didn't have a job description and certain requirements for the applicant? Politicians are supposed to do specific jobs, too. But, unfortunately, the political process completely ignores that and seeks to get ideologues elected who do not have the skills to do the job they ran for. Is it any wonder that our political system is a mess and the ineffective government is bloated beyond belief?
Cruz supporters - “Deputy Champions of the Constitution” are fine with it as long as it’s their guy benefiting from the disenfranchisement of the People - ironic how many “conditional” Constitutionalists we have here.
The presidency isn’t like that, IMO. In fact, the more likely one is to have government experience, for example, the less likely they are to be someone I would want to support. Especially this election, I want a “break the china” kind of president. That’s the opposite of someone like a Hillary, who many say is extremely qualified but to my way of thinking is disqualified because of temperment, world view, and dishonesty.
As opposed to "Eminent Domain Donald."
I'll side with the whiner, thankyouverymuch.
The communist system is nothing but following rules set forth by the central elite of the party. Do you still feel everything is OK, as long as you follow the rules?
Two tigers fight. One dies and one is crippled.
Yes,exactly.
Voters as a group are complacent. We haven’t coerced the best amongst our associates, to represent us at the town council level. Sometimes one must figuratively take a qualified hostage and give them no choice but accept the mantle of the leader.
All politics is rigged; but, local office is the entry level available at the grassroots level, to push for changes. The problem will be to prevent the incumbents from finding ways to co-opt or otherwise control the newly elected. Reaching critical mass for changing the political culture at your local level is the crux of dealing with the stacked deck.
This level of representation is where the field of potential delegates can be pruned with intent toward reshaping organized politics. This is the starting point to win by the ballot box. For faster results, another box may be required.

The presidency has a job description--it is in the Constitution. It is we, the voters, who are too easily swayed (as a group) by slick marketing and shallow promises for things the Constitute does not mandate.
Most long-time politicians are in it for power, not to represent the people in a constitutional manner. Hillary is not qualified. As a lawyer, her skill set does not match the skill set needed for the executive office. Plus, she has achieved very little on her own, and she is utterly annoying with her constant yelling.
I've thought for a long time that we need more businessmen with real world experience in politics. They have the skill set needed for the presidency, as well as many of the other jobs in politics.
