1. Are Ted and his team so blinded by unbridled ambition, and so insulated from any and all critical thinking about the calamitous path they’re on, that they’re completely unaware of the catastrophic effects they might bring upon the country?

Yes, they're unaware consciously, I believe. Cruz and Kasich actually are deluded into thinking that their course of action (bringing the GOPe into the nomination process) can produce some kind of positive result. Subconsciously, of course, there's a whole lotta cognitive dissonance fermenting.

2. If they are aware of the above, why on earth are they continuing down that path?

They're as delusional as their followers.

They're insane.

Vote Trump

“Trump has around 855 right now. Cruz and Kasich combined come in at about 700.”

Wow. There truly is no contest at this point.

Which reminds me - where’s that nifty chart you were posting every night? You know, the one showing the delegate totals, etc.

They're insane.

I think it's worse than that. I think they know exactly what they're doing.
It's only because of the panic that we're finally able to see beyond the tip of the iceberg.

I’m thinking that there’s more than cognitive dissonance and delusion at work here. I simply cannot buy that these shrewd and able politicians are merely hoping against all reasonable hope, that they can somehow pull off a win through tactical maneuvers and cunning electoral strategies.

I think there’s something much darker going on here.

They go down the path for $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

It would be interesting if we could follow their families bank accounts over the next ten years.

I say follow the money.

Just wondering.....how much, if any, have the zots the past few days impacted the voting here?

Please reference the second chart on the results page linked in post seven on this thread.

You will be able to view Cruz votes for two weeks side by side.

“After 04/26 Cruz will need 128% of the remaining delegates and Kasich will need something like 180-200%.”

Hence their decision to team up to try to stop Trump.......

The Cruzers have been strangely silent the last 24 hours. I’m sure JR didn’t zot them all! I would love to hear their spin on the loser team up.

Thanks. I’ve got to get my vote in quickly so that I can get to bed. :-) I don’t always do it around midnight, but most days I do. It started a few weeks ago when I noticed that the Cruz voters tended to vote later in the day, leaving it almost entirely Trump supporters during the early hours. The Trump supporters would then tout the early vote totals. (That voting pattern eventually changed, with more of the Cruz supporters voting earlier.) I decided to try and give the Cruz supporters some encouragement by voting early.

For the record, TaxPayer2000 is usually first on the board, although I beat him at least half the time when I try to post around midnight.

(LB, let me know if this post is out of bounds)

Argument:
Our current primary system is in disarray. There is no Constitutional “protection” for the votes in a party-driven primary. The party primaries are simply protected under Amnd-1. What has currently transpired is simply “legal-justification” for a uniparty system of choosing candidates.

I’d like to have following question answered by our media (including Rush and Levin):

in 1859, which Republican candidate WON the popular vote in the Ohio Republican Primary and which candidate garnered the most Ohio Republican Delegates for the convention?
