A tabloid report made waves on Wednesday with claims Richard Simmons’ recent self-imposed withdrawal from the public eye is because he has transitioned into a woman, but a rep for the fitness guru told FOX411 the report is bogus.
“Not true and a complete fabrication,” Simmons' publicist said of the claims.
The National Enquirer’s cover featured a photo they claimed showed Simmons wearing women’s clothes. The report also claimed he goes by the name Fiona.
Simmons was hospitalized over the weekend for what the fitness guru said was exhaustion. On Tuesday, TMZ published grainy paparazzi pics of someone they said was Simmons leaving the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles sporting a full beard.

Got the polka dot “ king of the mountain” jersey on more than one occasion. Journo shows up to interview him and he’s wearing pigtails and growing breasts.

I still think Simmons is suffering from some sort of mental “issue,” and as such as not been seen in public that much in recent years.

To me Richard Simmons was a harmless and self effacing, funny effeminate guy who found his niche in society by appealing to over weight women and offering them a means to weight loss via his fun filled aerobics videos........
I wish him no ill will and hope he is not suffering from anything more serious than this dehydration problem........
If I could offer him one piece of advice it would be "Richard, get rid of those damn shorts!".....
