Is there a good alternative to Pay Pal for our charity/non-profit?

We are opening up our non-profit home school co-op for registration and other purposes.

We are loathe to use the bigoted Pay Pal, because of its hatred of keeping children safe from predators.

I can "google" alternatives, but I would prefer to hear any real world recommendations my fellow freepers might have.

Thanks in advance.

Square works decently. More people use it to run their businesses than Paypal and it gives you the option to take their credit card info over the phone but at a higher fee.

I have looked into this because of PayPal’s obnoxious shafting of NC. They exist. You are going to have to do some searching. It’s not that hard. Even Amazon can help you on this.

PayPal cancelled development of a network center in NC because PayPal wants men in your granddaughter’s bathroom and shower.

PayPal has also been hassling small vendors of gun parts. They’re the worst.

PP pulled out of a job expansion and facility in North Carolina because the state legislature and governor enacted a law requiring men (people with XY chromosomes) to use bathrooms marked “men”, even if their “brains” told them they were women.

So nice to be a monopoly. Some questionable practices though:

ProPay has been advocated by many pro-family groups.

I use Stripe and love it. Much more professional looking than people having to go to paypal’s site. Uses a nice little popup. It’s strictly credit card and you’ll have to have ssl/https for it to work but that’s something you should have anyway.

Not 100% sure but I think you can do recurring payments aka subscriptions with it as well. Super easy to set up. It does require connection with a bank account. No minimum on payments/deposits going to your bank account and they do that automatically every two weeks. Same rates as paypal.

I use a service called Skrill. It’s a really easy payment service just like paypal, and with low fees. I don’t do donations or anything with it, but it’s a pretty simple approval process to get started with. Not sure if it will suit your needs, but it’s worth checking out.

Yes. You can even use it to send invoices online. Lots of small businesses use Square through an IPad as their cash register. Paypal is not quite up to,the same standard as Square though it's getting closer..
