I happened to catch a jaw-dropping incident on the Fox News Channel air yesterday, as Shepard Smith’s breaking news coverage of the Baton Rouge police ambush brought on Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal for telephone comments. In the course of attempting to heal the raw nerves, Gov. Jindal said “all lives matter” and was rebuked by the crew-cut newsman. Kristinn Taylor of Gateway Pundit captured the exchange:

The modern left rejects the color-blind ideal of Martin Luther King. These days, unless you are a black supremacist, leftists consider you a racist.
“All lives matter” is a statement which just drips with racist hatred against oppressed minorities.
“Black Lives Matter” is a neutral statement which could not possibly become a slogan to encourage ambush killings of white police officers.
Here endeth the lesson.

I sometimes wonder if these mediots are even thinking about what they say or simply concentrating on playing devil’s advocate on their guests, but that was grade A stupid. Really bad television and an incredibly ignorant point to make and he even doubled down on it.
I was not a fan of him before and it made me even less of a fan. Smith came across as really believing his hateful (yes, folks - that is hateful) point and you could hear the exasperation in the Governors voice.
Reminds me why I watch very little live news anymore - it usually gives me a headache, guests are not allowed to speak, it’s full of soundbites over substance, and it just plain aggravates me.

I asked a leftie what ever happened to MLK’s being judged by content of character rather than color of skin and he got pissed. They can’t stand being exposed or the truth.
Shepard Smith truly is out of his depth. I watch him and realize you don’t need much to make it in this world.

The Shrimp on Bourbon Street is just an idiot. There he was standing on Bourbon Street, drunk as a skunk, and probably smelling just as bad, saying it looked like New Orleans had suffered only minor damage from Katrina. If he had done his homework, he would have realised the path Katrina had taken was the worse case scenario for New Orleans flooding. About a half hour later the levees began failing.
