The Twitter replacement already exists. In fact, the code for the replacement may be still be sitting on Github.
App.net failed in providing a pay-for Twitter replacement. The carcass of App.net is still running. Get people to fund a (conservative) alternative to Twitter & you’d have one pretty quick.
