What would you say about a Pagani?

Those Gullwing’s are beautiful but they had a reputation at the time as being widow makers. Hard to handle cars.

Look up Ralph Lauren’s car collection online. Stunning. They were exhibited in a museum and I saw a documentary on them.

NO no no no no... When I quit I.T. for a while, I answered an ad in the paper to be an apprentice for a very high end, European trained mechanic.

He runs an elite car shop out of Bridgeport CT. It was there that I was exposed to a lot of high end cars, both in the seat and under the hood.

So “the drives” that I did with them were test drives.

Reminds me of when some doofus in a rental econobox backed into Jose Canseco’s Lamborghini Diablo. Much to his credit, Canseco resisted temptation to stove in the guy’s head with a Louisville Slugger, despite the fact that adjusted for inflation (this was in ‘92), the Lambo car cost more this 458.

Ah.. the Pagani.

I have no first hand experience with it, but I do what it’s purpose is. The purpose of that car is to separate the buyer from their cash.

The car runs and drives, and it does “neat” things but it’s not really designed to do those things. It’s designed for investment. The look of the car, the mechanicals and the trim are built with value at the top of the list.

They are physically impossible to fix. Like wrecking a Bugatti Veyron. Another friend of mine owns a high end shop where he worked on one (A famous one) and his interaction with the company went on for months before Bugatti said “Listen. This car isn’t supposed to be fixed. Even if you fix it, Bugatti will deny it’s authenticity because the mere existence of a rebuilt Bugatti ruins our brand.”

That’s why I will never own a vehicle over $40,000. That and not having the money.

You got to learn about the realities of exotic cars, and were paid to do it? Sounds like a fun job.

“Is the aerodynamic or autodynamic?”

It might be autoerotic depending upon how much the Ferrari likes its nose under the rear end of the Mercedes...
