The French are more gloomy about the future of their country than anyone else in the world, a new study has found.

A new study from Ipsos has revealed that the French are the most likely to think their country is heading down the wrong path.

In fact, a full 88 percent of respondents to the survey answered that they think the country is going in the “wrong direction”.

This compared with 83 percent of Italians who think their country is also on a downward spiral and 82 percent of Spanish.

Sweden and Germany had 73 and 71 percent of people believing their country was going the wrong way, while the figure was at 64 percent for the US, 58 percent for Australia, and 56 percent for the UK.

The world average was 62 percent thinking their country was heading the wrong way. …

If the USA was as overrun with sandfleas as France is, we would be as pessimistic as the French.

Take Jesus out of your future and all you’ve got left is negatives.

Yeah, wonder why that is. Doesn’t make any sense...provided you are not allowed to consider that France now has a large number of citizens from a violent intolerant culture led by a long dead crazed prophet that ordered them to slaughter unbelievers until the whole world bows down to them, who have not assimilated nor contributed but instead attacked and demeaned and tried to intimidate all around them.

Just a little off topic but....

A couple of nights ago on John Batchelor Show Stephen Cohen said the Russians have a saying.

A pessimist thinks that things can not be worse, but an optimist knows they can.

They’re at 71 percent. Since this is Ipsos (Reuters), one is left wondering what the real figures are.

They are wrong. I’m the most pessimistic. But come to think of it, I am part French from way, way, way back.

An optimist believes that this is the best of all worlds. The pessimist believes the optimist is right

It’s good to be a pessimist, then you’re never disappointed.

It’s good to be a pessimist, then you’re never disappointed.

And occasionally pleasantly surprised.

The French are very good at playing with fire believing it to be warm and “Frenchy” friendly......and it will always bite them in the end....it always has.

France is one of the places most of my friends cross off their visit lists now.....they say you can go anywhere else in Europe and enjoy the people until you visit France...who will guarantee you’ll never return.

One guy I know couldn’t wait to take his new bride to France.....he’ll never return because it’s sooo dirty there.

I may never return to Paris but a lot of France is really nice and the people too. Try Amboise or Cherbourg.

You would never believe it but people come to the US and visit Detroit and D.C. as if there were no reviews to check first.

If only the French had the means of removing those in power, say, through voting. Oh wait.

Same here. What's the point of democratic institutions if nobody will exercise them? Instead it's always "Government is too big, so I'm going to vote for more of it." or "We need to secure our borders, but I'm going to vote against the guy who will build a wall, because that's raciss."

If Hitlery wins, we WILL be as pessimistic as the French.
