Evan McMullin on building a new conservative movement

Amid the raucous final phase of the presidential battle between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, independent candidate Evan McMullin has quietly crept into contention in the overlooked state of Utah – a development he hopes could lead to an Electoral College deadlock.

The former CIA operative is little-known elsewhere in the country and is only on the ballot in 11 states. But an apparent voter backlash in Mormon-heavy Utah against the two major-party candidates has fueled a surge for McMullin – a Mormon and Utah native – in state polls. A new Emerson College poll released Wednesday even had McMullin in first place, 4 points ahead of Trump, 31-27 percent, with Clinton at 24 percent.

If this guy spoils the election for Trump, he and Kristol better sleep with one eye open.

Ain’t going to happen. I believe there was a legitimate poll that had Trump up in double-digits last week.

This race may come down to electoral votes from a single swing state. If McMullin's sham candidacy takes the electoral votes of an otherwise solid Republican state away from Trump, the blame for 4 years of Hillary falls squarely on the sleazes behind his candidacy: Mitt Romney, Bill Kristol, and the rest of the #NeverTrump team.

McMullin's run is their way of backing Hillary without admitting that they're working for her.

Mormons will need their magic underwear if they cost Trump the election.

If the Mormons find themselves constitutionally unable to vote for Trump, the way I was unable to vote for Romney, they may as well park their vote with someone who is not HRC and really has no future. George Wallace won a number of states in 1968 for the American Independent Party. It worked out as okay as it was going to.

The Globalists know the Clintons Well.

They only ever win when there is a Third Party Spoiler in the mix.

If the national election is as close as The LA Times et al say it is.

Then Trump looses because of Utah. I will be so angry I don't know what we should do. Every Republican from Utah should be officially ostracized from any all future conservative functions.

If he wanted to be president he should have declared a year ago and competed in the primaries.

My daughter was telling me about him.

I told her they were voting their religion.

She wants to vote third party candidate as she doesn’t like Trump but will NOT vote for Hillary.

I can’t talk sense to her.

She’s in her 20’s and knows everything yet.

In NY our votes for president have typically been throwaway votes but this year that may not be the case.

Whatever, but I know one thing, I know of ONE person who has decided to vote for Trump as a result of his pro-life, pro second amendment, pro Constitution stand on the debate the other night.

I've grown to hate people like Romney, Kristol, the Bushes, the NRO NeverTrumpers, and this McMullin clown even more than I hate Hillary and Obama. At least Clinton and Obama don't pretend to be on the side of conservatism or patriotism. The NeverTrump Republicans are on the same side of the fight as Clinton or Obama, they just lie about it while demanding our loyalty and support.

In spite of what they're doing now, in future elections they'll be asking for loyalty pledges towards their candidates of choice, and shrieking about how any third party challenger to their candidates of choice is just a corrupt "spoiler." They don't like it very much with the shoe on the other foot.

McMuffin doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell and yet this is big news. Every vote he receives is a vote for the Clintoon Crime Family Syndicate. You can’t fix stupid in Utah, I guess.

From the article

“...The former CIA operative...”

OK, now, just —how— do they know this??!!??

IIRC, people aren’t supposed to even —say— whether or not they worked for that agency.

And if someone checks/asks the agency, they get this answer:

“We can neither confirm nor deny”

Sounds like she's too young to vote. There's no reasoning with idealistic young people. I was the same way at that age. In 1980, I voted for John Anderson. Why? Because I was young and didn't know better. At least she's not joining ISIS.

If the Mormons are stupid enough to think that the House of Representatives will elect one of them, they might as well debark for Kolob now.
