Cuddle Cats at This Election Night Party as the Results Roll In

BROOKLYN — Attempt to regain your sanity as the election results roll in by cuddling up with some feline friends Tuesday night in Brooklyn Heights. The Brooklyn Cat Cafe, at 149 Atlantic Ave., will be hosting an election night “comfort” party from 8 p.m. to midnight.

The cafe, where about a dozen adoptable cats roam free, will be screening the election results on a projector, as well as some funny cat videos interspersed throughout to “help reduce the tension,” a listing for the event said. The watch party is meant to bring a sense of humor to what’s been a tumultuous election season, said Anne Levin, president Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition, which runs the cafe.

“It’s been kind of a traumatic election season,” Levin said. “The cat cafe is a comforting place, kind of a zen environment.”

They installed insanely bright street lights along Joralemon a few months ago. Crime is up in the neighborhood since Brooklyn Bridge Park opened . . . and Joralemon is the main corridor to the park from the subway.
