Well, NSA is SIGINT. Electronic signals/data collection. And they’re not exactly a secret these days.

You are mostly correct, SIGINT (Signals Intelligence) is broken down into ELINT (Electronic Intelligence) and COMINT (Communications Intelligence).

NSA focuses more on the COMINT side of the house. My focus was more on ELINT, radars and such.

Is Clapper doing the country a favor by staying put UNTIL OBAMA’S OUT OF OFFICE? Is that what’s happening? Maybe it’s NOT a action against Trump?

The NSA story is being leaked to the press - but it seems the liberal press hasn’t figured it out. Anyone with a clue?

He’s Navy, right? Does this have something to do with nuclear subs? And that flight the other day over Denver? And subs losing power they should keep?

I am more inclined to think that Rogers is in the way of something that the Obama administration wants done before January 20th.

That's my guess too... any guesses?

If the individual was not collecting the information to share with another country, whom within this country was he working for?

If it wasn't for money it might have been for principle. Is this the person who hacked the DNC?

There were claims that the NSA had records of Clinton's missing emails, so I wonder if the NSA doesn't have lots of evidence of the Obama administration's criminality.

Seeing Trump ahead of time might be to inform him of this, and to let others in the NSA know that they will not be able to get away with destroying evidence already in the NSA's possession.

Or it might just be Rogers conniving for an appointment.

The official reason given was concerns about ongoing lax security, and ineffective operations against ISIS.

I don’ t believe either reason,

Supposedly there were so many red flags in Harold Martin's personal life that this could easily have been noticed by a software scan of databases normally used in background checks. And once again a contractor was accessing an unnecessarily wide variety of material without anyone paying attention. So shouldn't some heads roll because of this unacceptable security situation, especially since apparently nothing was learned from prior incidents? And why should the top guy be immune?

Was it ever established that the Podesta emails came to WikiLeaks via the NSA?

I don’t know, I would very much doubt that, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if it were true.

Okay, that argument makes sense. Still with two months to go, it’s got to be pretty low on the priority list.

I don’t know much about the Harold Martin case, but if Rogers was at fault, why wait until very near to the end of Obama’s term to do anything about it?

Martin’s house was not raided until the end of August and it probably took a while to learn the full magnitude of what had been going on. News articles about the case all appear to be from October.

Didn’t Clapper lie to congress?

I don’t know, maybe.
Hard to think the Obama administration would suddenly care about lying to Congress though.
Doesn’t seem like Congress is upset about it. Of course it’s hard to imagine Congress prosecuting anybody after letting Hillary skate on deleting emails after a congressional subpoena.
