Always nice to have Steyn bring us back to the world of common sense. Borders? What are those?

I never really bought into the “hard working” profile of Germany. I think more of a Germany that is the father of the welfare state. Bismark was the first to bring in social benefits paid by the taxpayer. Their social safety net is a huge albatross of a burden they can no longer afford. Which is behind the naivete of Merkel who thinks these desert rats will actually work for a living and pay for that social safety net.
