Taylor, I’m a vet.

Weekends are best. Weekdays OK, too.

Afternoons are best. Mornings and evenings OK, too.

Taylor Swift made it clear she was leaving country music. Why is she hinting at a return?

Keep up Guido. 8>) Country music changed years ago to garner a wider audience. It ain't your daddy's country music and hasn't been for many years now.

As a country singer artist it doesn’t hurt her business at all. If a rocker, then it would.

Jackie Evancho who has been trashed by the Hollywood twits for singing for Trump, has quadrupled her album sales over the last month.

I saw a freeper last week declare that Bluegrass in now the only country music left. Think I agree with them.

There is always Branson Missouri for the returnees.

Country music is a genre of American music that originated in Southern United States, in Atlanta, Georgia in the 1920s. While Bluegrass music is a form of American roots music, and a sub-genre of country music. Unlike mainstream country music, bluegrass is traditionally played on acoustic stringed instruments. Apart from specific instrumentation, a distinguishing characteristic of bluegrass is vocal harmony featuring two, three, or four parts, often with a dissonant or modal sound in the highest voice, a style described as the "high, lonesome sound.

It has strayed less than country music, that's for sure.

The video at the bottom of the article, singing and playing in the living room, showcase this girls talent.

You may not like her style of semi-country pop, but there’s no denying she’s one of the most talented in the business.

They certainly adopted electronic instruments. I am on old WSM listener with Bill Monroe being my first real exposure to Bluegrass.

Roy Acuff and the Great Speckled Bird was my Grandfather's favorite.

I always considered them more country than bluegrass, though they certainly had their start in the bluegrass genre.

Very, very true. Two weeks ago, my "boys" (two sons and grandson) visited the Country Music Hall of Fame. I've never been that big a country music fan, but several exhibits highlighted the influence of early rock, and 60's folk rock on country music.

On our way home, we stopped in Memphis to visit Sun Studio, the site where Elvis recorded his first record.

Christmas came early for me, as I enjoyed my first road trip with my boys...guys only, both Moms/Nana stayed home.

To set the record straight, they were invited, but they opted to save their vacation time.

He was the father of bluegrass, but when he stated having electronic instruments added into his songs (bad advice from the producers) he had diverted from true bluegrass roots, but no I was not really talking so much about him. Roy Acuff was definitely a country singer though who had his roots solidly formed in bluegrass but catered to the country crowd where the bigger listening base was.

We had a long Taylor Swift party in the bathroom this morning for kids showers and baths. We are big fans.

She does really nice things for her fans.

The old country music was almost always about sad events, and the new and upcoming country artists were enjoying more lucrative lives and were not so dead set against some of the sounds emanating from rock n roll music of Elvis, Buddy Holly and the like including black artists.

She switched to pop from country. I was sad about that but her songs are still great.

But she is talking about switching back as well. Her country songs always had a pop flavor to them anyway. Artists have really become much harder to classify into a genre I’ve noticed, because so many seem to incorporate elements of other genres. To me music is music and I enjoy what I like, based upon sound at times, or lyrics at other time. I even love some classical music if it moves me. Rap is my least favorite, but even some rap moves me to where I like those songs.
