FULL TITLE: Homeless man, 23, 'hacked another vagrant with a machete, stomped on his head then threw him into frigid river in snowball fight gone wrong'
A homeless man from West Virginia has been charged in a brutal machete attack on another vagrant man, who was then hurled into a ice-cold river.
The violent altercation occurred Sunday morning in the Kanawha City section of Charleston.
Charleston police Lt. Steve Cooper says 23-year-old Brandon Thompson was charged with attempted murder and malicious wounding.
According to Cooper, the victim, identified as 19-year-old Brandon Robinson, hasn't been located as of Monday morning and was presumed dead.
A police diver search was suspended in the afternoon due to cold temperatures but was expected to resume on Wednesday.
Police say witnesses reported Thompson allegedly repeatedly hacked Robinson with a machete, stomped on his head, then dragged him and threw him in the Kanawha River.

I’ve noticed that for quite a while. It’s my wife’s favorite news source.
They are destroying that old MSM axiom, “If we don’t report it, it didn’t happen.”
Machete Kills, dont let Machete kill again.
Seriously, we need to re-open the mental hospitals for these people. Get them off the streets. Get them some help.
Is Machete a new piece of Russian siftware?
19 years old...could be someone’s mentally screwed up kid.
Can’t find him so they’re saying it’s just “attempted murder and malicious wounding.” Hmm, until he pops out of the freezing water and says he’s alive and well, I’m going with murder.
Don’t bring a snowball to a machete fight.
if I had a dollar for everytime a snowball fight led to me hacking someone up, then stopping on them followed by throwing them in the water, I’d be rich.
Maybe the local press is protecting the run of "Top Chef: Charleston"?
OTOH, I seem to recall a TC season with a Haitian chef running around looking for a machete. (To open a coconut, not necessarily to up the ante in a fight...)
But I'm sure the LSM was simply waiting to see if the victim was indeed dead, so they wouldn't have to update the story from "...attempted murder and malicious wounding" to "...murder and malicious wounding".
Newsrooms are under constant pressure to streamline, you understand.
“Dont bring a snowball to a machete fight.”
Quote of the day!
We run into that stuff all the time in CA. We are mostly in south Beverly Hills and people be crazy!
They run stop lights, stop signs and jaywalking is legal.
My wife had finals, that week an unhappy student at CSULA was in the parking lot at night with long knives cutting cars and tires in three parking lots. He was arrested by campus police and in his car he also had a hatchet, a loaded gun and three extra clips.
Some of our neighbors freak out while smoking mushrooms when they walk down the block and think they saw Larry King at a bagel shop.
Fun part is that was Larry, he owns the place.
It’s a rite of passage :)
So much happens you like the example I gave above. Never made the news either.
ROFL!
Two Brandons. Stands to reason. Charleston isn’t big enough for two Brandons.
Wait: you can smoke mushrooms?
I feel like such a noob. Turns out I was doing it wromg the whole time.
