That’s what private donors are for. If you get government funding and you choose to bite the hand that feeds you, that’s what happens.

NEA: I thought that was the National Education Association, which also needs to be eliminated.

NEA, National Endowment for the Arts? The same people who brought us great art such as “Piss Christ”?? Pardon my language but that obscene name is the name given by the “artist” for that piece of work...........

If we are defunding National Endowment for the Arts, its high time. Why do we need to subsidize absurd obscene sacreligious “art” in the first place? If you want to stick a crucifix in urine and call it art, do it on your own time and your own dime.

While the NEA is arguably a good idea, the states have never expressly constitutionally delegated to the feds the specific power to tax and spend for anything like the NEA.
“Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States.” —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

So until the states amend the Constitution to justify federal funding for something like the NEA, it’s got to go.

Just as important to cut the National Endowment for the Arts.

Just a big open conduit for our tax dollars to fund the Left.

Trump must de-fund the Left.

Tough to have to depend on Other People’s Money, snowflakes. We never heard of any of you or read or saw any of your artsy efforts.

We, in fly-over country, are busy scratching through the slim scraps of our pay checks to find some crumbs to spend on food and housing after the various levels of government subtract their “first fruits.” God, Who gives us all things, only suggests a 10% portion of our substance. Why should we hand over much more than that to crooked. wasteful government agencies? We pray that Pres. Trump will deliver us from this evil.

You mean we’re actually going to STOP funding all these ULTRA LEFT-WING ORGANIZATIONS ..????????????????

How about DE-CERTIFIZING THE UNIONS .. SUCH AS: Teachers, any workers for the Government, or any company holding contracts with the Government.

If a regular company wants to deal with the unions, fine .. but leave the GOVERNMENT OUT OF IT. Don’t people realize that these UNIONS in all these government organizations, are really FUNDING THE DEMOCRAT PARTY.

When are we going to stop cutting our own throats by allowing these GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES - TO DONATE TO ONLY ONE PARTY ..?????????????????

It is just a funding mechanism for “progressives”.

They are able to isolate themselves from the market with these sorts of programs. Mostly propaganda for the left.

Sorry to the artists here but I never understood why the government gave financial assistance to artists.

The myth about the non-partisan nature of these federal sacred cows, is that instead of “removing politics” from art and the “humanities” they are used very frequently for advocates of one political bias or another to use their “art” to demonstrate their bias, using taxpayer money to to so.

It’s simple. Freedom of speech does not mean the government is required to supply you the megaphone.

In fact, the ONLY way for the government to be truly non-partisan in the “arts and humanities” is for government to stay out of it, completely.

Perhaps some of these delicate Snowflakes could muster the courage to ask People like George Soros that instead of spending Billions world wide to topple Democratic Governements he donate to Piss Christ and the Enrichment of Liberal Millionaire Loons like Bill Moyer (Who got rich feeding at the Public PBS Trough).
