After the Berlin lorry attack at a Christmas market in December, ex-UKIP leader Nigel Farage said events such as that will be "Merkel's legacy".

One highly doubts that she believes even slightly that islam "is not the cause of terrorism".
She’s going to lose and, like Obama, is going into “scorched earth” mode. She would rather destroy Germany than admit her own stupidity.
Islam may not be the “cause” of terrorism, but surely Islam nourishes and protects those who ARE terrorists.
Which, in most law codes, contributes greatly to the guilt of the enabler in any of the crimes committed by actual perpetrators.
Maybe not in Sharia Law, though.
More refugees = more protective cover for more terrorists.
I believe she has been successfully blackmailed. Just before she became the import-Islam specialist of the world, she was seen in public with a look of horror and disbelief fixed on her face. She seemed to have a hard time listening when spoken to and bowed her head in horror and shock when walking around. Right around that time I read a rumor somewhere or speculation somewhere that she was being blackmailed a la dirty bomb or nuke-in-place-already and that by importing Islamists she would reduce the threat (as if they would ever hesitate to harm their own). I believe there is some blackmail somewhere - don’t know if it’s personal (her life) or a threat to stability/country (I think more likely) but IMHO she has decided she has no choice but to give in to demands.

Maybe they can’t, but it sure seems like some lib over there would have sued and the liberal courts would have thrown out any law saying refugees can’t.
