Yep, that is the key to solving it. Once we let the deer population explode in the Northeast, millions of people got infected (or will get infected).
Obviously the solution is easy - take down the deer.
Things transmitted by parasites can be tough to vaccinate against. That direct introduction to the blood stream makes them come in strong. Also 300,000 people ain’t actually that much in a land of 320 million.

The sky is not falling, but this is a real problem for people that work or play outdoors.
Lyme is relatively easy to treat if caught fairly early - often it does give a distinctive bulls-eye rash as an additional clue.

Good luck finding that bulls-eye if it’s under your hair or on your backside. I sure never found one.
