I stumbled upon the story in the Birmingham Mail which said it pulled the story from the Liverpool Echo. I checked both sites (which were virtually identical) and I couldn’t find any mention of her being intoxicated.
Huh. Well it still wouldn’t be an excuse for her actions but at least it would make sense. She certainly bit off more than she could chew here. Hopefully she got a wake-up call out of it back to reality.
