Getting in some practice time for Sat/Sun shows at the Chino CA. Airshow. Looks like the F-35 will actually be doing some solo work as well as flying in the Heritage Formation with the other old Warbirds mentioned. Should be a good show and possibly the last one.

Around 20-25 years ago I took some photos of an F-15 flying with two P-51 Mustangs at an air show at Eglin AFB. I thought it was really neat.
Later I discovered something similar is done at just about every air show. Still interesting tho.

A flying P-38 is a very rare sight.According to Wikipedia, #44-23314, 23 Skidoo , lives full time at Planes of Fame in Chino, California
Only 9 in the US are air worthy.

A guy who knew about aerodynamics once commented to me at Pt Mugu airshow about the Mig-19, F-86, and F-18 flying around low. His comment was "talk about dissimilar flight characteristics". I gather in turns and such the planes all handle much different than the others in the formation.
So, keeping station is a piece of work for the pilots.
