The Ballfield: Mass-murderer dilettante
Like most libs, increasingly militant
A good guy with gun
Put an end to his fun
Some snowflakes thought force was exorbitant

Seems to me that this word perfectly describes the level of expertize that democrats/liberals have when they come up with a solution for a problem. Specifically the part on lack of knowledge.

I became acutely aware
That my profession
Of teaching Rock Guitar
Could soon become an obsession.

So, two brothers, who are also my nephews,
Are “taking guitar” from their aunt.
One is an absolute prodigy,
The other, a dilettante.

I learned this word watching GI Jane. The Master Chief called one of the trainees a dilettante when he quit the seal training. Had to look up the word.

A blessing that this nut job was not combat trained/experienced. It’s one thing to fire at a stationary target at the range and a very different thing when you are adrenalined up and receiving fire yourself.

I am guessing dilly dally is slang combining dilettante, someone not spending much effort at something, with dally, going slow just hanging around.
