I got on google earth and “drove” around the neighborhood. Pretty amazing - it hasn’t changed in 30 years. Really 40 years - when I would ride my bike to grandma’s house. It actually looks nicer than what I recall.
Although I lived out in the suburbs with larger lots and larger homes, so I probably just looked at the “small” houses as a kid. Now I appreciate how nice most of them are - and the well-kept landscaping.
Another thing it reminded me of - no fences in the yards. In our suburb too - nobody had fences - we would play in the backyard and could roam all over the place.
Here in suburban Seattle everybody has a 7-foot wood privacy fence in the back yard - and some front yards.
The ones that define justifiable homicide.
