Many chain restaurants and other franchise retail businesses use formulas concerning things like local population density, proximity to highway off-ramps, suitable abandoned commercial properties and — most relevant in this case — proximity to that same company’s other stores to select suitable new locations. There’s one such business in my home town that has six teams employed full time driving around the country scouting for new locations that meet all the criteria for them to expand into.
When you use mathematics to select your business locations, there’s a pretty good chance they’re going to end up be arranged in repeating patterns.
Nothing to see here, ...move along (else I’ll put the evil-eye on you!).
I threw my back out backing out my Outback out back of the Outback Steakhouse.
I always like a little meat to go with my salt. Vegetables go well with salt as well.
Pffft...I find that Quicken Loans guy on ISP home pages the creepiest thing on the net. Chills.
Many disparate types of companies would be located in this general fashion.
Fast food, mini-storage, gas station chains, retail, home improvement, hardware, grocery.
This is idiotic.
Looks like I’ll have and go and have dinner.. I mean investigate this with wifey and check it out!
I agree.
Outback was never that big on my hit parade.
They plan to kill you by oversalting the food. Probably use MSG too.
Yeah, if you apply that to McDonald’s or Starbucks, there are pentagrams galore in my town.
After giving Outback several tries in south Florida and receiving sub-par food and service, I have vowed to never go back.
The last time I went, Sybrina Fulton walked in. Weird.
My local Lomghorn knows me and treats me really well. I go a couple of times a month.
Outback tries to hustle me out because I dine alone. Longhorn encourages me to take my time. Steaks are better and SOS the coffee.
The Longhorn Outlaw ribeye is great.
Wait, it’s not really kangaroo meat?
The Longhorn 20 oz porterhouse is good too.
My wife and I go usually twice a month. She likes the flatiron.
A small loaf of bread with butter, great salads and the lobster bisque...wow!
Oh, and nice Yuengling in a glass!
Yeah the porterhouse is excellent
That bloomin onion is the work of the devil!
I’ve been Outback three times. I’ve had the salmon twice and a steak once. The Bloomin Onion is a ball of grease. The salmon was okay.
I can cook steak better.
Hence, Outback has been on my “avoid” list for years.
I like a little meat with my salt.
Hard to do with only one restaurant in Amarillo.
