It could be a secret service agent or two.

If you can take video of a room where a conversation is happening, you can probably get audio intel from vibrations of objects in the room. This has been demonstrated by filming a potato chip bag.

To find out if it is a bug.

Trump should do following:

Have aide record him on video during meeting.

Trump holds up sign saying “ i am going to say some crazy stuff now, disreguard it. Bug check”. Then trump goes on a five minute tirade about firing someone who the msm whpuld have a shit fit if he fired them.

A the next day peess conference sarah sanders gets asked about “trumps meltdown” , play video tape, then thank the press for confirming that the whitehouse is bugged and further business will be done inside a faraday cage in WH basement.

Watch msm and deep state crap their pants.

Unlikely. The Secret Service should catch that. Far more likely: The cell phones of “persons of interest” are being activated as listening devices. We are facing corruption and evil on an unprecedented scale.

As of a month or two ago, any jerk on a raft with a directional wifi mic could pick up signals from the resort.

Actually any networked phones or other devices are relatively easy to hack. My small business system is easily hacked it you know network protocols. Turns any speaker phone into an instant recording device. Oh and it is the same system as the one sitting on the desk in the Oval Office. Precautions can be taken (which I have done) but if .gov wants in then they can get in.

The swamp can monitor white house computers and telephones. We know there is a leaker in the FBI and that leaves NSA (McMasters), the CIA, and other swamp spy agencies.

I believe that there is outside surveillance going on, but the White House doesn't have to be bugged.
Everyone in there is carrying a cell phone which can be tapped into for audio and video.

With all the updates O did to the White House equipment, as you mention in your post, president Trump needs to have everything checked out.

I think it’s the phones. Many people are not aware how modern digital phone systems work, or how easy it would be to plant low level firmware into them. It would be straightforward to plant infected firmware to passively monitor several lines, encrypt and send the digital audio stream to an offsite server. Filtered to deliberately reduce fidelity, the stream (or more likely, randomly timed and sized bursts) would not be large amounts of data. It could have been easily done long before Trump took office, and simply captured (turned on) around the end of January.

The central equipment (in the WH, or just downstream) could have infected firmware code, and nobody would be any the wiser. Heck, it could be one counterfeit chip swapped out. Even the normal checksums could be rigged, so it looks like it’s all proper without deep forensic investigation.

Or, ready for this—most system admins of such systems can switch any handset to monitor with a simple command. It’s built into most systems. None of this will show up with the usual “sweep for bugs” equipment. It’s a digital code thing. The audio is already available—handset microphones are always on—always.

In a past life, I dreamed I did stuff like this myself on an att system. But I lost the details in a boating accident...ahem...

Why would they need to bug the WH when Trump has Twitter?

Passive transmission is nothing new either. Bouncing laser beams off of vibrating window panes is one. The bugs in the Moscow embassy were powered by a microwave beam that the Soviets aimed at the building.

This could be relevant to your theory:

“The president’s vacation could be driven, in part, by necessity. Everyone who works in the White House West Wing, including the Oval Office occupant himself, will be forced to clear out by week’s end so that the government can replace the balky, 27-year-old heating and cooling system.”

My only point is that “sweeping for bugs” is insufficient.

I can't think of another way to explain the leaks.

I can. People talk.

Phone calls with foreign heads of state are recorded and transcripts are made. One of the people who have access to those leaked them.

Bedminster is where he supposedly said the WH is a Dump.

One time when I was young and just starting out, a friend and I were invited to the home of a wealthy older couple who were trustees of several banks and art museums. They lived in an exclusive grand apartment building in the nicest part of a large city center. They had an extensive art collection inside the apartment, a grand piano, and beautiful furnishings. The artworks lining the walls of every room were spectacular, ranging from Old Masters to colorful moderists, and so were the views of the statues, fountains and treetops in the city park below.

My friend and I were tryng very hard to remember our manners and keep from gawking and losing our cool at every new thing. When we left after a wonderful dinner and conversation, the couple escorted us to their private elevator and waved good-bye as the doors closed...

...at which point my friend and I locked eyes, and he said, "What a dump."

To which I replied, "All that crap art."

...and we both exploded with laughter. It was comic relief from an amazing evening and (at that point) once-in-a-lifetime experience.

It wouldn't surprise me if Trump had called the WH a "dump" in exactly the same way -- it's a place he had not really dreamed he would some day call "home."

Perhaps that’s why Trump spends time in his Florida home.
