Family members have identified one of the Marines missing following a U.S. military aircraft crash off the coast of Australia as Ruben Velasco of Southern California.
Velascos parents said uniformed officers came to their home over the weekend to inform them the search for their son was being called off and was now considered a recovery.
Velasco had celebrated his 19th birthday only a few days before the crash, according to the post.
The wreckage of the MV-22 aircraft, which crashed off Australias east coast on Saturday, was located Monday, CNN reported.
The aircraft involved in the mishap had launched from the USS Bonhomme Richard ... and was conducting regularly scheduled operations when the aircraft entered the water, the Marine Corps said in a statement.
Another one of the Marines has been identified as Ben Cross of Bethel, Maine, by family members.

The guy was a Marine killed on duty, and the family is looking for a “GoFundMe” jackpot to pay for a funeral?
The $100,000 tax free Death Gratuity isn’t going to cover the expenses? http://www.military.com/benefits/survivor-benefits/death-gratuity.html
Even if they throw in the $400,000 life insurance policy?
Prayers for his family. I am hoping that those who started the GoFundMe are ignorant as to the benefits that will be forthcoming.
It might just take a while to come in.
I’ve been praying for these Gold Star families and the brothers-in-arms. Thank you for sharing.
The military pays the expenses for the funeral at a National Cemetary. This was pure ‘GoFraudMe’. Feel free to contribute if you want. I’ve already contributed generously through my taxes.
