For a city that seems to move at the speed of light, being late is never a good thing. Thats true for budget agreements, thats true for commuter trains, and as it turns out, its probably true for earthquakes as well.
We tend to think of seismic activity as a west coast problem. Friday demonstrated all too well what a magnitude 8.2 earthquake can do to Mexico and Central America; many of us remember the World Series quake that rocked the San Francisco area in 1989. But New York, which is actually riddled with faults, has a long history of earthquakes: On average, the region has witnessed a moderate quake (about a 5.0 on the Richter scale) every hundred years. The last one was in 1884. Seismologists say we can expect the next one any day now.

How long have the Democrats been in charge in New York? As usual, they are simply postponing the day of reckoning.
This smacks of a child who seeing attention directed away from itself, invents a tale of woe to capture an audience.
Refer to earlier posts from libtards telling Floridians they are not wanted up there.
Florida will recover.
I can only imagine what will happen to NYC when the big one hits them and all that diversity eats their little pajama boy shorts.
Enjoy your “no guns” buttwipes.
I had to do one of these creative writing bits in High School.

Apparently 9/11 wasn’t enough to get their mind’s right. So bring on plan B.
I thought the same thing about 9/11 but they seem to pull together pretty well.
Good point!
#GLOBALWARMING!!!
Yes. Yes, it does.
“I thought the same thing about 9/11 but they seem to pull together pretty well.”
Indeed, but the good guys (cops, firefighters, etc) were able to perform.
When the real Obamastuff hits the air distribution impeller, the friends O’the Mayor will come out.
And Friends O’the Mayor are the bottom of the bottom of the bottom. (Actually below that.)
There actually is an active fault beneath NYC, what quakes it produces are very small.
could there be a big one? Always a slight chance.
This is part of the leftist Environmental meme (at least in the minds of lefties).
Many years ago there was a theory that Manhattan was undermined by a very deep ocean cavern. Something like a major earthquake could cause this cavern to act like a fracture point, splitting off a large section of the island.
No kidding. They might as well be afraid of a volcano appearing in the middle of Times Square.
Of the many faults of New York, I would have never put tectonic in the top ten.
Locusts must be headed to NYC too.
