Glad I snageed on of the last new Dell laptops running Win7 Pro. That and my desktop with same OS will be it for many years.

The spying and intrusive "update" downloads are all absent, and I doubt there is any user benefit from the newer OS. Experience with my wife's Win 8 laptop cured me of any pretense that newer was better. She is forever complaining that she cannot do anything because the damn thing is downloading some update.

Actually I only open Windows WHEN NEEDED.

The ‘internal Windows computer’ is never started until I need it, then I shut it down.

I, personally, am NOT concerned by any NSA snooping (NOT that I want it!) - I know my computer is well configured and robust.

I think at this point MS has a serious trust problem- I know that there are a lot of like myself who were so totally put off by MS pulling the crap they did that we either went to a new OS or have reverted back to older versions of windows-

While this is a good first step for MS- it’s going to take a long long time before many people begin to trust them again- Getting rid of ALL spyware in MS windows would be a good start- give people back control over their OS (with option to have everything automatic IF the person wants it)
