Yes, they have changed to scoring to make scores higher, for the same performance, than they were a few decades ago. Average scores are still down, though, even with the inflation.

Statistics show the students admitted to education majors have among the lowers, if not the lowest average SAT/ACT scores. However, that doesn’t necessarily carry over into who actually becomes a teacher. Some teachers were not admitted to college as education majors, and some students who were admitted as education majors don’t become teachers.

As I said above, I think the designers of the program wanted some kind of numerical snapshot. It’s possible that a lawsuit would have resulted no matter what number was used.

Likely, in fact.

teachers should be assumed to be competent, why do we have to pay them to do so?..

there has never been a more coddled group of workers than teachers...

Is that how you want to be rewarded in your workplace?

Your boss assumes you’re competent and you have no motivation to exceed expectations?

I saved my PSAT, SAT, GRE, Miller Analogies and LSAT paper documents from decades ago.

SAT scores are easy to find. Every college transcript I ever reviewed included the standardized test scores used for admission (and I looked for them). In most cases it was either at the top or the bottom of the transcript in the same area as the high school diploma and GPA.
