Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro, and Joe Pesci reunite in new set photos captured during the shooting of The Irishman. Based on a book by Charles Brandt, The Irishman traces the life of real-life reputed mob hitman Frank Sheeran (De Niro), who among other things claimed to have been involved in the 1975 disappearance of Teamsters boss Jimmy Hoffa, a mystery that to this day remains unsolved (despite outrageous claims like his body being buried under the old Giants Stadium). Al Pacino is set to make his Scorsese debut playing Hoffa.

The Irishman marks Martin Scorsese’s return to gangster film territory, and he’s recruited a cast that includes many of his former long-time collaborators, including De Niro, Pesci and Harvey Keitel.

I’ll watch anything with Pacino in it. The other guys are icing on the cake.

Looks interesting. My dad sez Hoffa ended up in the trunk of a car that went to a car crusher and then into a furnace on Zug Island(?)

LOL The range of these guys is so small. Playing mobsters AGAIN! LOL What a waste of time and money.

They filmed some scenes in Suffern, NY, set in the mid 70’s. It was a very accurate depiction of old stomping grounds.

Yeah, but there a lot of people who think De Niro is one of the greatest actors ever.

From "We're No Angels" where he was out acted by Sean Penn...

That's DeNiro's face in about seventy percent of his movies and scenes.

Interestingly, Rockland County for years has been home to many “alleged “ wise guys. I remember when one of them took shots at the County DA, didn’t actually shoot hi, but they put a few bullet holes in his beautiful 1966 T-Bird.

Many years ago, I read the book, “You Paint Houses, Don’t You?”, that this is based on. Great book!

This SHOULD be a FANTASTIC movie given the reprise of the cast and director of “GoodFellas”. I might actually have to go and pay to see it on the big screen. If so, by the time it comes out, that’ll be about the first theater movie for me in 10 years.

I don’t Deniro anymore. Too bad they couldn’t have found someone else.

Won’t watch anything with DeNiro in it. He’s a liberal POS. Plays tough guy but is a Hollyweird sissy.

I see your point, my FRiend, however please recall that Joe Pesci gave us a truly remarkable and entertaining performance, as a (cough, cough) lawyer in My Cousin Vinny.

DeNiro has had a variety of roles, few or none of which I thought he was "great". (I anticipate some disagreement, here; and, that's fine w me. Whatever YOU think is fine w moi.)

Do they all ride the same shuttle van from the nursing home to the set and back again when filming is over?
