I love that site. It has a lot of history and old recipes with the old product pictures.
I can’t imagine eating it from the can, it would be too sweet! I love it in my cheesecakes though.

Sorry you've been feeling so sick. Hope it's nothing serious.

When I have bouts with bad anxiety I don't eat much and lose lots of weight without trying. It's like metabolism goes into high gear or something.

I'm way behind but still cooking - slowly. I've got all the dry ingredients measured out and ready to go for the Carmelitas. I tend to overthink how I'm going to proceed these days.

You said you used softened butter. Room temp soft? And then how did you get it mixed in well? I want to use your method and not use melted butter.

And those crescents are gorgeous. I saved a similar recipe only it uses a 3-inch cookie cutter with the little scallops on the edge. Then a little apricot preserves are added, the pastry folded just shy of 1/2, baked, then drizzled with icing.

Either way you have to make dough and roll it out which is worth it if you feel up to it. Actually making crescents would be easier than a cookie cutter.

You’re welcome! I never have the malt syrup some recipes call for. There are some that just call for regular ingredients. Have fun! (If your bagel rings open up when you put them in the simmering water, you can always have bagel sticks)

You’ll love fashion icon Tziporah Salamon’s book on the “Art of Dressing.”

She chronicles her clothing evolution from being born in Israel and holy advice she got from Rabbis.

Tells about outfits worn to synagogue.

Beautiful book by a beautiful person.

I’m going to make this into loaves instead of cupcakes tonight to make it a little easier on myself. Two for us and two to mail to my FIL. This recipe is so tasty with whipped cream on top, I love the texture too. This recipe makes two large loaves.

Thanks for filling in as I look forward to this weekly group. I hadn’t really thought about it, but I realize I do crave protein, especially cheese. Okay, don’t make fun, but I also crave McDonald’s chicken biscuits & will pick one up on my way to school on Fridays. The rest of the week I have chia oatmeal & yogurt.....a gal’s gotta have some guilty pleasures!

Enjoy your rugalach, they look spectacular! Just melt in your mouth delicious ; )

I love making my own bagels, they taste so good. My kids are big fans of my bagel dogs. I like to wrap little smokies in the bagel dough, and then continue the rest of the bagel steps. They never last long.

A great technique. Adding the cheesecake-type layer,
then capping w/ batter to hide the delicious "surprise."

I'd like to try that w/ chocolate cupcakes.....and brownies.
