It is very funny how people like this knew but didn’t have the character to expose what was going on because they were afraid what it would do to them. And now we are supposed to respect these people and say how strong they are now bailing on the bandwagon. Or, the other category, those who are lying and saying they didn’t know any of this was going on. Do they think we are really that stupid?

I’m just gonna come right out and say it:

This whole story is the equivalent of finally admitting that pro wrestling is fake.

Heck, when I was in HIGH SCHOOL IN 1970 we knew about the concept of the casting couch. My whole life I’ve just assumed that every truly successful female star (and no small number of the male ones) and gotten where they were because they, at the very least, slept with someone. It’s why I was not really ever interested in doing such a thing myself. The price of admission was simply too high.

Not that any of this is justified and I’m glad it’s blowing up, but everybody - even the general public - acting surprised really cracks me up.

The changes that will come will be very good, though.

Linda, how can you possibly give your "dear friend" a pass when he is a rapist?

There is no difference between Bill Clinton and Harvey Weinstein.

No FOB or FOH has any standing or credibility whatsoever to “tut tut” about Weinstein or sexual harassment/assault in Hollywood or anywhere else. FOBs and FOHs enabled serial abusers and would likely do so again today.

The last person who should be granted credibility on this or any other ethical matter is thomason. She and the old man conspired with the clintons to ruin the lives of loyal government employees in the Travelgate scandal, and did it for money. Too, they both stood mute as hillary and bill destroyed more lives in the “management of bimbo eruptions.” That she’s known about the predatory perversion in hollywood for decades and has done nothing should be her damning epitaph.

I will be the first to admit that clearly delineated moral choices can still be painfully complex where friendship is involved. One of the best friends I will ever have and a man I love dearly, former President Bill Clinton, has certainly taxed my feminist conscience, but always without diminishing my affection. I even helped write his apology to the nation for his own sexual misconduct, was sitting next to him when he delivered it, and believe to this day it was based on something that was none of our business. And yes, some may call it hypocritical

Of course she knew. But that was "none of our business". And guess what, ma'am. Your lecture in this column just met deaf ears. You are all about protecting the wymyns when it fits your agenda, which means you could give a flying rip about "the problem". If you don't care enough about it to make it a priority, I won't give it another thought.
